OREANDA-NEWS. It is possible to stop the supply of weapons to Ukraine by economic measures against the West, Alexander Losev, a member of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, told Tsargrad. It is there that the main enemy, the expert believes, and simply cutting the railways is ineffective.
The main enemy is the United States, the West. It is time to respond to the total economic war unleashed against us with the same serious measures. Then the supply will stop. Then we will help our army too,” Losev said.
He added that the conflict could drag on for decades if Western Ukraine remains under the control of the North Atlantic Alliance.
Earlier, German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock said that arms supplies to Kyiv do not make Germany a belligerent in the conflict in Ukraine. The minister added that Berlin supplied Kyiv with a large number of weapons that were not mentioned publicly.
In turn, the German defense concern Rheinmetall sent a request to the German authorities for the sale of 88 Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine. The first batch of 22 tanks can be delivered within a few weeks. The rest of the equipment, if approved, will be delivered to Ukraine by the end of 2023.
