OREANDA-NEWS A man was arrested in Elista after being accused of participating in the activities of a banned extremist organization, according to reports from the investigation department of the Russian Investigative Committee in Kalmykia.

The man, who was also on the federal list of wanted individuals, was a member of the "Arrested Criminal Union" (ACU) extremist group, which is banned in Russia.

A criminal case has been initiated against the man under Article 282.2 of the Russian Criminal Code, which deals with participation in extremist activities. He is currently in pre-trial detention.

Earlier, it was reported that a man in Krasnoyarsk was sentenced to 7 years for displaying a tattoo with ACU symbols.
