OREANDA-NEWS An absolutely whole wooden trough of the XI century was found in Veliky Novgorod. The Novgorod United Nature Reserve reports on the millennial product in its Telegram.

Archaeologists made this discovery at the Troitsky excavation site near the Kremlin. It is clarified that the trough dates back to the time of Vladimir Monomakh.

Scientists have suggested that the product was originally used in the household. Later, the trough could have become a lining for the porch of the house — it was in this place that it was found. The archaeologists added that this is a very valuable find, since the thing has remained completely intact for 1000 years.

Earlier, an almost completely preserved wooden ladle from the first half of the XV century was also excavated in Ryazan. The 600-year-old product was under the collapse of the furnace — this allowed the wooden ladle to be well preserved for many centuries.

Meanwhile, a mysterious 12th—century walrus bone object, the "nenkin batog", was found in the Troitsk excavation. At its end was the head of a bird of prey with a large beak. It is assumed that women could use it to raise restless children.

In addition, in Veliky Novgorod, the remains of fishing nets of the XII century were removed from the ground. And in Pskov they found an unusual set for an ancient game of money.
