OREANDA-NEWS In Kamchatka, emergency workers helped a killer whale stuck in a shallow bay to return to the sea. This was announced by the Minister of Emergency Situations in the region Sergey Lebedev on his page on the VKontakte social network.
A young female washed ashore in the Sobolevsky district was rescued a day later. "I bow low to the volunteers, rescuers and all residents of the Sobolevsky district. Thank you. I hope that everything will be fine with the killer whale," Lebedev wrote. He also thanked the company that provided the necessary equipment for the operation, and the driver of the car with the crane.
It is assumed that the killer whale was stranded on November 14. Due to the low tide, she could not breathe properly, and cracks began to appear on her skin. For a whole day, rescuers tried to move her to a depth and poured water over her manually. The animal's condition was so bad that Lebedev expressed serious concerns about its life.
Earlier it was reported that one of the killer whales, which the Russians managed to rescue on October 2, was stranded again due to low tide in Kamchatka. The largest individual was trapped.
