A Soldier Was Killed in the South-East of Turkey during the Firing from Iran
OREANDA-NEWS. A Turkish soldier died and one was injured in the southeastern province of Hakkari during firing from Iran.
This was reported by the Ministry of National Defense of Turkey. “On June 23, during reconnaissance and surveillance operations in the border region of Yuksekova, Hakkari province, two of our brothers in arms were wounded as a result of firing from Iran. We failed to save one of them,” the statement says.
On June 24, an Iraqi news agency Shafaq reported, citing sources in the local administration, that Iranian artillery bombarded a village in Erbil Province in the autonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan.
Earlier, the Turkish Defense Ministry announced the beginning of a military operation named Tiger-Claw in the northern Iraqi region Haftanin against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which is banned by Ankara authorities.
