A Russian citizen has been detained in the United States on charges of violating the export law

OREANDA-NEWS The US Department of Justice has reported that American law enforcement officers have detained a Russian citizen, Denis Postovoy. He is accused of illegally exporting microelectronics with dual use to the Russian Federation.
According to the statement, Denis Postoy, 44 years old, a resident of Sarasota, Florida, has been arrested on charges of conspiracy, smuggling, money laundering, and fraud against the United States. It is alleged that he has been involved in purchasing and illegally exporting microelectronic components since February 2022 through a network of companies he owns or manages in Russia, Hong Kong, and other locations. These components can be used in unmanned aerial vehicles.
A court hearing on the matter of his detention is scheduled for September 19th.
The Russian Embassy in the United States has reported that they are aware of the detention of a Russian citizen, but they have not received an official notification from the American authorities.
The embassy has requested information about the location of the detainee from the US State Department, according to a statement from the diplomatic mission.
