OREANDA-NEWS. Physicians of the Burnazyan Federal Medical and Biophysical Center of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA) of Russia tested a new method of treating coronavirus infection.

Yury Udalov, Deputy General Director for Medicine of the Center, informed that patients receive treatment in a pressure chamber. “The thing is that in many studies that have issued in the world, the emphasis is placed on the fact that normobaric oxygenation provides a positive effect. Since this technique has been used in the system of the FMBA of Russia to restore athletes of the national teams of the Russian Federation for a long time, we have implemented this technique within two days, literally from the moment when these data were published. And the first patient already receives this treatment in full,” he said.

The essence of this method is to saturate blood with oxygen. This can be done with the help of a ventilator, a mask, or a pressure chamber. The effectiveness of the method is proven, stressed Udalov. It is suitable for patients with moderate severity.
