OREANDA-NEWS  An electronic program for counting tourists, which affects the collection of the resort fee, was introduced in Sochi. This was announced on the Telegram channel by Svetlana Kalinina, First Deputy head of the Sochi Krasnodar Territory for Economics and Finance.

"In January, an electronic program for counting tourists was introduced, which affects the collection of the resort fee. Today we see that not all accommodation facilities treat this issue in good faith, facts of cash collection are being revealed," the message says.

All hotels and inns will be recorded in the electronic system, indicating the number of tourists from other regions, as well as the days of their stay. "Already in February, we will see deviations in the amount for each accommodation facility and take control measures," Kalinina added.

The Deputy Head also explained that, together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sochi, a number of seminars are planned with the heads of hotels and resort hotels to comply with legal requirements. The next events will be held in February.


In 2023, Sochi received 7.6 million tourists, which was the highest tourist flow in 100 years. According to experts, by 2030, the tourist flow in Sochi will reach 10 million tourists. Krasnodar Territory is one of the main tourist regions of Russia. Beach holidays are popular here in summer, and ski resorts in winter.
