A Man Suspected of Recruiting to ISIS Was Detained in Saint Petersburg
OREANDA-NEWS. A man suspected of recruiting into the terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS, banned in the Russian Federation) was detained in Saint Petersburg.
“The suspect… is detained, the issue of arrest and indictment is being decided, several searches are being conducted,” the release of the press service of the city directorate of the Investigating Committee of Russia says.
According to the law enforcement officers, in 2015, a 32 year old man incited two citizens of Tajikistan to go to the territory of Syria to participate in hostilities on the side of the ISIS.
A criminal case has been instituted in accordance with the Article 205.1 “Assistance to terrorist activities” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
