OREANDA-NEWS  A group of 60 U.S. Marines arrived in Finland to participate in training at the end of August, the Finnish Navy said on Friday.

"A group of the US Marine Corps, consisting of subordinate units of the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force (II MEF), has arrived in Finland and will train with the Nyland brigade until the end of August. A unit of about 60 Marines will be stationed in the Nyland brigade in Dragsvik (southern Finland – ed.) and will operate mainly in the area of the brigade's exercises," the Navy said in a statement on its website.

Another US Marine Corps unit is expected to arrive in Dragsvik later this year to participate in the Finnish Navy's Freezing Winds 24 exercise, which will take place at the end of November, the material says.
