Village of Atholville Receives Funds to Complete Community Hall Renovations
The project funding has been used to complete renovations to Alma Hall. Work involved improving washroom access for persons with disabilities, upgrading the kitchen used for community and youth activities, as well as improvements to the ventilation and heating systems.
The Government of Canada invested \\$50,400 in the project through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP150), while the Province of New Brunswick and the Village of Atholville each contributed \\$50,000.
CIP 150 is providing up to \\$300 million nationally over two years to support projects to rehabilitate, renovate and expand community and recreational infrastructure as part of the Government of Canada’s activities to honour Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation.
As part of the recently launched Atlantic Growth Strategy, the Government of Canada is committed to supporting infrastructure projects in communities across the region that enrich the quality of life of local residents. This investment builds on this commitment.
