The Government of Canada is investing in La Mauricie National Park
OREANDA-NEWS. August 18, 2016. Parks Canada places belong to all Canadians. They represent the very best that Canada has to offer and tell stories of who we are, including the history, culture and contributions of Indigenous peoples.
The Government of Canada is investing more than \\$15 million for various infrastructure projects in La Mauricie National Park. Mr. Fran?ois-Philippe Champagne, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for Saint-Maurice–Champlain, made the announcement today on behalf of the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, Catherine McKenna.
This investment will go towards infrastructure geared to visitors, including trails, picnic and day use areas, as well as campgrounds, to enable more Canadians, including youth and newcomers, to learn about our environment and our history and to access and experience nature. Other projects will involve upgrading several service buildings.
Investments in visitor infrastructure – such as visitor centres and campgrounds, as well as highways and bridges – provide an enriching and high-quality visitor experience and help maintain the ecological and commemorative integrity of national parks and national historic sites throughout Canada.

“Our Government is committed to protecting and restoring Canada's natural and cultural heritage. These investments will ensure the quality and reliability of the visitor facilities at La Mauricie for years to come, while also supporting the regional economy and contributing to the growth of the tourism sector. La Mauricie is a natural treasure in both summer and winter, and I encourage all Canadians to experience nature and learn about our environment at the park.”
