OREANDA-NEWS  In New York, President Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev.

The Ukrainian President expressed gratitude for the political support of Bulgaria in the protection of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and counteraction to the Russian aggression.

The Head of State noted Bulgaria’s consistent position as regards the EU’s policy of sanctions against Russia. He emphasized that the sanctions must remain until the restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

President Poroshenko thanked Bulgaria for its active facilitation in the European integration of Ukraine, particularly in the issue of ratification of the Association Agreement and implementation of the visa-free regime for Ukrainians. The parties are hopeful for the continuation of an efficient interaction during Bulgaria’s presidency in the EU Council in 2018.

The Presidents discussed topical issues of bilateral economic cooperation, including the reconstruction of the road Odesa - Bolgrad - Reni, as well as the protection of the rights of the national minority.

Petro Poroshenko invited Rumen Radev to visit Ukraine at his convenience.
