OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2016. In the course of the NSDC session, President Petro Poroshenko called road construction a priority of budget funding.

“We have a common position that 2016, 2017 and 2018 must be years of road construction. This is what we must demonstrate as an important priority for today,” the Head of State said.

According to the President, funding of road repair and construction has increased tenfold compared with 2013.

Petro Poroshenko stressed the importance of continuing decentralization in the state, for it significantly broadens the opportunities of local communities’ development. “I am sure that we must continue a principled line on decentralization. The first reports from local administrations prove that responsibility of local government increases when we convey rights and financial resource,” he said.

According to the President, statistics of major cities shows that they have collected more funds in the first half of 2016 than over the entire year of 2014. This applies to Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Odesa and most of the regional centers.
