GOP launches RNC 2016 app
OREANDA-NEWS. July 07, 2016. With less than two weeks before the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland commences, the GOP has released an official mobile app for the event.
The Republican Party said the app is now available on the Apple App Store for iPhones and the Google Play store for Android devices. An estimated 50,000 attendees are expected at the RNC taking place July 18-21 at the Quicken Loans Arena.
The app will provide "unprecedented access" of the proceedings, said Samantha Osborne, the RNC's digital director. The features include 360-degree cameras offering live streams of the convention, a list of speakers and turn-by-turn maps inside the arena and surrounding areas.
"The app is pretty thorough. We wanted to make sure it's pretty seamless, whether you are in Cleveland or not," said Osborne in a recent interview.
