Canadian Army Soldiers Practice Armoured Combat Skills during Exercise STEELE SABRE 2016
Exercise STEELE SABRE 2016, is a challenging training opportunity designed to further hone the individual and collective skills upon which the regiment’s operational readiness is based. Training activities during this exercise will include mounted reconnaissance patrolling, tank manoeuvres, and live fire ranges.

- On July 1, 2016, 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group, headquartered in Edmonton assumed responsibility as the Canadian Army’s high readiness formation. Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) forms the core of one of three combined arms manoeuvre units in the brigade group.
- Core training events such as Exercise STEELE SABRE 2016 strengthen soldiers’ capabilities to operate effectively at home and abroad. Operational readiness allows the Canadian Army to accomplish the tasks the Government of Canada assigns.
