Canada and Nunavut Reach Agreement under New Federal Infrastructure Funding Program
OREANDA-NEWS. September 07, 2016. Canada and Nunavut have approved three community infrastructure projects, to date, under a new federal infrastructure program introduced as part of Phase 1 of the 10-year Investing in Canada plan. The Clean Water and Wastewater Fund will address key infrastructure priorities with a focus on repairing and upgrading existing facilities and assets.
Clean Water and Wastewater Fund
The Government of Canada is providing over \\$36 million for three projects to rehabilitate and improve the community water and wastewater systems in the territory. The Government of Nunavut and communities are also providing over \\$12 million for these projects. Combined with territorial and community contributions, more than \\$48 million will be going toward providing Nunavut families with clean, reliable water sources.
The Government of Nunavut will identify additional projects for Phase 1 funding in the coming months.
