OREANDA-NEWS  Six-time bronze medalist of the World Speed Skating championships Elizaveta Golubeva has applied to join the national team of Kazakhstan, the president of the Skating Union of Russia Nikolay Gulyaev told RIA Novosti.

Golubeva is 26 years old. In the 2022/23 season, she won the gold of the Russian Championship in mass start.

"She (Golubeva) wrote a statement. I don't have any information on other athletes yet. The Kazakhstan Federation has officially requested consent for the transition only for Elizaveta Golubeva. We haven't approved anything yet. We have a procedure approved within the framework of the regulations of the executive Committee of the Skating Union of Russia – everything is according to plan. The Executive Committee will already make a decision. We have just written an application to the Ministry of Sports to exclude her from the list of the national team, because she was officially listed in the Russian national team. As it should be, we do not have any regulatory deadlines," Gulyaev said.
