OREANDA-NEWS  Russian athletes have earned the largest number of awards at the BRICS Games held in South Africa.

They won 59 medals: 35 gold, 12 silver and bronze.

The second place was taken by the Chinese national team (55 medals), the third – South Africa (51), the fourth - India (27).

The Russian team consisted of 34 athletes in six sports - swimming, tennis, badminton, beach volleyball, table tennis, sports of persons with an ODE injury (disciplines – table tennis and wheelchair tennis).

Kazan will host the BRICS Games in 2024.
