OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian national football team will not hold friendly matches this month, the RFU communications service announced on Wednesday.

The report says that the RFU continued to discuss with Pakistan the possibility of a friendly match, however, based on the time frame of the training camp that began, it decided not to hold the game.

At the October training camp, Valery Karpin's team will hold a master class for children from the Belgorod and Kursk regions, and will also meet with fans at the Lev Yashin Dynamo Stadium on October 10.

The RFU said that negotiations on friendly matches in November had reached the finish line, the opponents would be named later.

Earlier it was reported that the RFU tried to organize a friendly meeting between the Russian and Pakistani national teams in October, but the Pakistani side refused. She referred to the lack of time to prepare for the game and suggested rescheduling it to November. The RFU has already refused this, but the media began to report on the resumption of negotiations between the countries' football federations.

The Russian national team is still under FIFA and UEFA sanctions, and therefore can only play in friendly matches.
