OREANDA-NEWS  The players of the Russian national team with a score of 8:0 defeated Cuba in a friendly match in Volgograd.

The goals were scored by Ivan Oblyakov (22nd minute), Alexander Golovin (30), Anton Miranchuk (34), Alexander Silyanov (55), Alexander Sobolev (66), Danil Prutsev (68), Nikita Krivtsov (74), Andrey Mostovoy (78). In the 85th minute, Sergei Pinyaev failed to realize a penalty, his shot was deflected by the Cuban goalkeeper Ismel Morgado.

The Russians struck 31 shots (17 on target), the Cubans scored three shots (none on target).

In the FIFA ranking, the Russian national team ranks 39th, the Cuban national team - 169th.

It was the eighth match of the Russian national team in 2023. Earlier, the Russians defeated Iraq (2:0) and Cameroon (1:0), drew with Iran (1:1), Qatar (1:1), Kenya (2:2), the Egyptian Olympic team (1:1); the Russians also lost to the Egyptian Olympians (1:2).
