OREANDA-NEWS  Russian tennis player Daria Kasatkina lost to American Sloane Stephens in the second round match of the Australian Open and was eliminated from the tournament. 

The meeting took place on Thursday, January 18, and lasted three sets. The American woman won with a score 4:6, 6:3, 6:3. The athletes spent 2 hours and 6 minutes on the court.

Kasatkina is ranked 13th in the ranking of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) and is the first racket of Russia. Stevens is ranked 44th in the world rankings.

In the third round, Stevens will play with another Russian, Anna Kalinskaya. The meeting will be held on January 19th.
