OREANDA-NEWS. The organizers of the Bellator 242 mixed martial arts tournament postponed the competition, scheduled for May 9 in California, San Jose, for an indefinite period. The decision was made in connection with the pandemic of coronavirus infection, according to the official website of the promotion.
The main fight of the evening was to be the fight between Russian Vadim Nemkov and Bellator light heavyweight champion Ryan Bader. Two more tournaments were also moved - Bellator European Series in London and Bellator 243 in Temecula. They were planned to be held on May 16 and 29, respectively. The new dates will be approved later on the basis of data on the epidemiological situation in the world.
Earlier, UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, currently in Dagestan, said his fight with Tony Ferguson was in jeopardy, as Russia's borders were closed due to a pandemic and foreigners were prohibited from entering the United States.
