OREANDA-NEWS Due to the sanctions, the skaters of the Russian national team lost the opportunity to quickly purchase skates. Elena Sokolova, whose wards became the winners of the final of the Russian Cup 2021/22, spoke about this problem of athletes.

The specialist told the RBC publication that her students ride in Jackson brand shoes, which are produced in Canada. Due to the sanctions, the company stopped supplying its products to the Russian market.

"The only way to buy skates is to order them through local residents living in the USA, Europe or Canada," says Elena Sokolova.

At the same time, she said that the previous pair of skates of her student Ekaterina Mironova broke after control runs in September, and a couple of days before the Russian championship, the athlete still has not received a new pair of shoes.

"This year the skates have been coming to us for two and a half months. And some of the guys from my group are still waiting for their skates, ordered since August. Why is this happening? Because Canada no longer works with us," adds Ekaterina Mironova.

However, Match TV's FFKKR replied that the athletes of the national team have no problems with equipment.
