The Cause of Diego Maradona’s Death Was Acute Heart Failure
OREANDA-NEWS. The cause of death of former Argentina national football team player and coach Diego Maradona was acute heart failure, which led to pulmonary edema.
The portal Infobae reported that such a conclusion is contained in the report drawn up after the autopsy. “Acute heart failure in a patient with dilated cardiomyopathy, which caused acute pulmonary edema,” the portal quotes forensic experts.
On November 3, Maradona underwent surgery for a subdural hematoma. On November 11, the former footballer was discharged from the hospital.
Maradona died on November 25 at the age of 61. In connection with his death, three days of mourning were declared in Argentina. Hundreds of fans gathered near the presidential palace in Buenos Aires to bid farewell to Maradona.
As a footballer, Maradona is known for playing in the clubs Barcelona, Napoli and Newell’s Old Boys. In the Argentina national team, he became world champion in 1986. Diego Maradona is considered one of the greatest players in football history.
