OREANDA-NEWS The Dutch taekwondo player Reshmie Oogink will not be able to compete at the Tokyo Olympics due to coronavirus infection. This is reported by the Netherlands Broadcasting Corporation (NOS).
"I have no words. I did everything in my power, worked hard to get to the Olympics even after a serious knee injury. And it all ends this way. This is the end of my career”, - said 31-year-old Oogink.
Oogink is the bronze medalist of the 2017 World Championship. These Olympic Games were supposed to be the second for her, in 2016 she reached the quarterfinals.
The organizing committee of the Olympics announced on Thursday that since July 1,there have already been identified 91 cases of infection among persons associated with the Games.
The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games will take place on July 23, the competition will last until August 8.
