OREANDA-NEWS  As the newspaper “Izvestia” notes, the athlete decided to refuse to participate in the competition in order to deal with the treatment of psychological problems. 

“Simone Biles will not be competing in the all-around at the Tokyo Games so she can focus on her mental health”, - the journalist Juliet Macour wrote on Twitter.

Earlier it was reported that Biles withdrew herself from the team all-around due to injury. She unsuccessfully performed the vault in the final.

In turn, CNN reported that Biles could refuse to participate in the final of the team all-around competition due to stress. It was noted that the 24-year-old athlete, presumably, did not cope with her nerves before the final with the Russians which is why she decided not to participate further in the competition.

The 24-year-old US athlete is a four-time Olympic champion, at the Games in Rio de Janeiro she became the best in floor exercise, vault, all-around and team all-around, and also won a bronze medal in the balance beam exercise.
