OREANDA-NEWS. The ice hockey club Tampa Bay Lightning (city of Tampa, Florida, USA) won the 2019/20 Stanley Cup of the National Hockey League.

In the sixth match of the final series, Tampa Bay defeated Dallas Stars with a score 2:0, and the total score in the series is 4:2. The match was held in Edmonton without spectators; this decision was made in connection with wide spread of coronavirus infection. Blake Coleman and Brayden Point scored the goals in the last match.

Tampa Bay won the Stanley Cup for the second time in its history. On their way to the final in the playoffs, Lightning beat Columbus Blue Jackets, Boston Bruins and New York Islanders. Before that, Tampa Bay won the Cup in the season of 2003/04.

Dallas have played in the league playoffs for the first time since 2000. The team has one Stanley Cup, which it won in 1999.
