Taekwondo Fighter Maxim Khramtsov Brought Russia Fourth Gold at the Tokyo Olympics
OREANDA-NEWS. Taekwondo fighter Maxim Khramtsov became the champion of the Olympic Games in Tokyo in the weight category up to 80 kg and won the first Olympic gold in the history of Russian taekwondo.
In the final of the tournament, Khramtsov defeated Jordanian Saleh Al-Sharabati with a score of 20: 9.
The bronze medalists were previously the Egyptian Seif Eissa and the Croat Toni Canaet.
Khramtsov's gold became the fourth for the Russian national team at the Games in Tokyo. In total, the Russian team now has 12 awards.
Before Khramtsov's victory, the best result of Russian taewond fighters at the Olympic Games was silver medals in 2000 and 2016.
