OREANDA-NEWS  Former world number one Russian Maria Sharapova took third place in the ranking of the best tennis players of this century according to ESPN.

Above her are only the sisters Serena and Venus Williams (USA), who occupy the first and second places, respectively.

Also in the top ten of the ranking are Justine Henin (Belgium), Iga Swentek (Poland), Kim Clijsters (Belgium), Naomi Osaka (Japan), Ashleigh Barty (Australia), Angelique Kerber (Germany), Amelie Mauresmo (France).

Sharapova has won five Grand Slam tournaments and 36 WTA titles. She finished her career in 2020.
