OREANDA-NEWS  Russian tennis players Mirra Andreeva and Diana Schneider became finalists of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

In the semifinals they defeated the Spanish couple Cristina Buccia/Sarah Sorribes-Tormo – 6:1, 6:2.

Andreeva and Schneider will play against Italian athletes Sara Errani and Jasmin Paolini in the gold medal match. The game will take place on August 4.

Thus, the Russians have guaranteed themselves at least a silver medal and will be the first of their compatriots to become winners of the current Games.

A total of 15 athletes from Russia were announced to participate in the 2024 Olympics, 12 of them have already completed their performances. From August 6 to 10, Russian canoe rowers Zakhar Petrov, Alexey Korovashkov and Olesya Romasenko will compete. Petrov will perform among singles at a distance of 1000 m, with Korovashkov in pairs – at 500 m, Romasenko – in singles at 200 m.

Russians and Belarusians compete at the Olympics under a neutral flag, and their achievements will not be taken into account in the medal standings.
