Russian Athlete Is Disqualified for Four Years for Doping
OREANDA-NEWS. The All-Russia Athletics Federation have decided to disqualify long-distance runner Valentina Galimova for four years for violating anti-doping rules.
This was reported on the official website of the organization. “Galimova was found to have violated the All-Russian Anti-Doping Rules (paragraph 2.1.“The presence of a prohibited substance, or its metabolites, or markers in a sample taken from an athlete”), the statement of the press service of the Federation reads.
The period of disqualification of a 33-year-old athlete is counted from August 14, 2019. Her results at the Russian Championship, held in July 2019, will be canceled.
Galimova became a prize-winner of the marathon race in Honolulu three times. In 2011 and 2013, she took third place at competitions in Hawaii, in 2012 she won gold.
