Russia's Rookie NHLer Scores Second Goal in Three Games
OREANDA-NEWS. "The Vancouver Canucks" beat "the Dallas Stars" 6-3 at home in a regular National Hockey League (NHL) game.
J.T. Miller, Elias Petterson, Bo Horvat, Vasily Podkolzin and Brock Boeser scored for the home team, while Joe Pavelski, Luke Glendening and Ryan Suter scored for the visitors.
"Vancouver" rookie forward Vasily Podkolzin scored the game-winning goal against Dallas. It was the 20-year-old Russia's third goal in his NHL debut. In 10 games he has 3 (3+0) points.
Podkolzin appeared 14:29 on the ice today, his best time of the season (0:36 on the power play), had 3 shots on goal and one power play and finished with a +1 efficiency.
Previously, Podkolzin was selected by Vancouver in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft at number 10. He left to play for international teams after two seasons in the KHL with "SKA".
"Dallas" goalie Anton Khudobin made 30 shots on goal, his Russian teammates Alexander Radulov and Denis Guryanov had no scoring chances.
"Vancouver" is seventh in the Pacific Division with 11 points in 12 games. "Dallas" is fifth in the Central Division with 10 points in 11 games.
"Vancouver" takes on "the Anaheim Ducks" at home on November 10 and "Dallas2 takes on "the Nashville Predators" on November 11.
