OREANDA-NEWS Russian athletes can be admitted to the Summer Olympic Games in Paris in 2024 on one condition, the Daily Mail reports.
According to the source, we are talking about the fact that Russian athletes will be banned from participating in team sports such as football, volleyball, handball and others. Such a decision may be made due to the fact that Russian athletes are not allowed to the qualifying rounds and qualifications.
The main criterion for admission remains the fact that athletes from Russia will perform in a neutral status.
Recall that the IOC executive committee will discuss the issue of admission of Russians to international competitions on March 28.
On January 25, the IOC announced that it was considering the possibility of allowing Russian athletes who did not express support for conducting a special operation on the territory of Ukraine to participate in international competitions in a neutral status.
Earlier it was reported that the head of the Italian National Olympic Committee, Giovanni Malago, said that the IOC confirmed its position on the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes in neutral status.
