Despite the fact that she is only 16 years old, she has already managed to achieve more than the vast majority of her colleagues in her entire career - she became the European champion, the winner of several Grand Prix stages, and also the Olympic champion in team competitions. Today I would like to wish her that these successes turn out to be only a small part of what she will eventually be able to achieve: both on the ice and beyond.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with the Olympians, separately noted the achievements of figure skater Kamila Valieva, who won gold at the Beijing Olympics in team competitions, and then became a figure in a doping scandal. Kamila Valieva brought figure skating to the height of a real art, this cannot be achieved with the help of some “means” and manipulations, Putin said.

Valieva’s doping test, taken on December 25 last year, found the banned drug trimetazidine. During the Beijing Olympics (February 9), Valieva, who had already managed to bring gold to Russia in team competitions, was suspended from further participation in the Olympics, and then this decision was canceled. The Court of Arbitration for Sport sided with the skater.
