OREANDA-NEWS. The British government will allow 60 thousand people to attend the semi-finals (July 6 and 7) and the Euro final (July 11) at Wembley — 75% of the maximum capacity of the stadium. But there will be practically no Italian, Spanish and Danish fans among them — those entering the UK need to serve a 10-day quarantine.

Initially, the British government understood the threat and met UEFA halfway: it relaxed the requirements for foreign fans and VIP guests. About 65,000 fans (75%) will be allowed to attend Wembley, but almost all of them will be residents of the UK.

According to the government's original plan, in order to enter the arena, it was necessary either to present a certificate of vaccination, or to provide a negative PCR test made no later than 72 hours before the match.

The holding of the semi-finals and finals in London has caused a lot of criticism. Moreover, they talk not only about the difficulties of foreign fans, but also about the decision to hold matches with almost full stands. On Thursday, the Ministry of Health of England registered 27,989 new cases in the UK — a new peak since January. According to the British Medical Association, the number of cases in England increased by 74% compared to the previous seven days — and 13 times compared to the average day in May.
