Klyuchevskoy Volcano Threw a Pillar of Ash
OREANDA-NEWS. Emission of ash to an altitude of 5.5 km occurred from the crater of the highest active volcanic volcano in Klyuchevsky in Eurasia, Kamchatka, the Kamchatka volcano eruption response group (KVERT), which was reported on Thursday.
According to the latest data, the plume from the emitted ash spread 10 km to the south.
The regional Ministry of Emergency Situations said that there was no ash falling in the nearest settlements.
Klyuchevsky volcano is one of the most active and powerful volcanoes in the Kuril-Kamchatka region. It is located in the group of Klyuchevsky volcanoes in the northern part of the Central Kamchatka Depression. It is located on the right bank of the Kamchatka River. The nearest town from the volcano is Klyuchi village, which is located about 30 km from the giant. The height of the Klyuchevsky volcano is more than 4,750 m. It is the highest active volcano in Eurasia.
