Karpin, in turn, thanked for the opportunity to combine his activities in the Russian national team and FC Rostov, which he also heads.
The 55-year-old Karpin became the head coach of the national team in the summer of 2021, under his leadership she played seven official matches. The national team won the right to play in the play-off matches for a ticket to the 2022 World Cup, but was soon banned from participating in international competitions.
Taking into account the friendly matches, the Russian national team won 11 victories, drew five times, and lost once.
