OREANDA-NEWS. President of the Russian Tennis Federation (RTR) Shamil Tarpishchev said that tennis player Daniil Medvedev does not have acute symptoms of coronavirus.
In an interview with “Championship”, he noted that while the 25-year-old tennis player suffers a mild illness.
Tarpishchev said: "Medvedev's condition seems to be normal. In principle, so far everything is in an easy form. And then I don't know what will happen. He is now at home."
On April 13, the second racket of the world, Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev, passed a positive test for coronavirus and will not be able to play at the Masters series tournament in Monte Carlo because of this. This was announced in a release on the official microblog of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) on Twitter.
Medvedev passed the test, which turned out to be positive, on April 12. The Russian is placed on self-isolation and is under the supervision of the tournament medical headquarters and the ATP.
The tournament in Monte Carlo runs from 11 to 18 April. Russian tennis player was supposed to start the competition from the second round. Medvedev himself commented on this situation: "It is a big disappointment for me not to play Monte Carlo. Now I have to focus on recovery in order to return to the Tour as quickly as possible and safely."
