OREANDA-NEWS. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) accepted a statement about allegedly forged signatures in the written testimony of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) informant Grigory Rodchenkov. The panel of arbitrators instructed the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to give explanations within 24 hours.

Earlier, Aleksey Panich, the lawyer of Russian biathlonists Olga Zaitseva, Yana Romanova and Olga Vilukhina, during a hearing at the CAS claimed that the signatures are false. He referred to the conclusions of Russian and British experts. The testimonies of Rodchenkov are the key evidence in the case of Russian athletes.

Rodchenkov, who headed the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory before moving to the United States, announced state support for fraud with illegal drugs. As a result, Zaitseva, Romanova, Vilukhina and another 40 Russian athletes were disqualified. In Russia, Rodchenkov is accused in absentia by the police of illicit trafficking in potent agents, the Investigative Committee considers him a suspect in the case of abuse of power. In both cases, he was wanted and arrested in absentia.
