Forbes Ranked the Highest-paid Athletes of the Decade
OREANDA-NEWS. American boxer Floyd Mayweather topped the list of the highest paid athletes of the past decade according to Forbes magazine. From 2010 to 2019, he earned 915 million US dollars.
The second place was gained by Portugal football forward Cristiano Ronaldo with an income of 800 million dollars. The third line is occupied by the Argentinean football player Lionel Messi, who earned 750 million dollars.
The top ten also includes basketball player LeBron James (680 million dollars), tennis player Roger Federer (640 million), golfers Tiger Woods (615 million) and Phil Mickelson (480 million), boxer Manny Pacquiao (435 million), basketball player Kevin Durant (425 million), and Formula 1 pilot Lewis Hamilton (400 million dollars).
In the ranking of the highest paid athletes, Forbes took into account salaries, various bonuses and income from the use of image rights. When calculating, the income received by athletes after the completion of a career was not taken into account.
