OREANDA-NEWS. The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has not confirmed information about the ban of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) on the participation of the Russian team in the World Cup 2022. This was reported by TASS news agency with reference to the press service of the organization.

Earlier, the Arab television channel beIN Sports announced that the WADA had notified Russia of the country’s ban on participating in the world championship in Qatar. The Russian Football Union claimed that it did not receive such notification.

The FIFA press service reported that the Federation is in contact with the WADA and Association of Summer Olympic International Federations regarding the extension of the decision of the WADA Executive Committee to football, but nowadays there is no new information on this issue.
