Although, according to the rules of the tournament, only athletes who have performed in at least two stages of the cup are allowed to participate in the championship.

President of the Russian Figure Skating Federation Alexander Gorshkov announced Medve's possible participation. He said that Medvedev is recovering and will not play at the Russian Cup. The fifth stage of the Russian Figure Skating Cup will take place in Moscow, at the Megasport Palace from 5 to 8 December.
