OREANDA-NEWS Russian swimmer Yulia Efimova will be denied a wild card to participate in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. This was reported to TASS by the International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics).
The organization stated that such an opportunity is not provided. According to the representative of the World Aquatics press service, a ticket to the Games can be obtained only after completing the qualification standard.
Earlier it became known that Efimova failed the selection for the Olympics. The athlete at the Bahamas Championship did not meet the qualification standard for the 100 and 200 meters breaststroke.
On June 14, Efimova received a neutral status to participate in the Olympics. The Russian is a six—time world champion. She also has a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and two silver medals at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.
