Almost 80% of Russian Youth are Involved in Sports
OREANDA-NEWS Not less than 79% of Russian youth is actively cured in sport, said Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation Pavel Kolobkov.
At an extended meeting of the Board of the Department in Novogorsk, he noted that 37.9% of the population are passionate about physical culture in the country as a whole. In this regard, the Minister drew attention to the need to involve middle-aged citizens in this type of leisure, increasing their participation more than twice.
"In six years to 50 million Russians who are already regularly engaged in sports, will cover at least 25 million citizens", — told Kolobkov.
According to him, the main driver in this direction will be the Federal project "Sport — the norm of life", which is part of the national project "Demography". It involves the creation of modern conditions for training, targeted motivation, as well as staffing and infrastructure.
Thus, Kolobkov said that in the next six years 137 billion rubles will be allocated from the Federal budget, which will be used to create conditions for the development of mass sports, training of coaches, purchase of equipment, creation of sports facilities.
On May 7, after the inauguration, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree On national goals and strategic objectives for the development of the Russian Federation until 2024. Thus, the document contains a provision on improving the standard of living of citizens and increasing life expectancy.
As noted, Kolobkov, the industry of physical culture was set a high bar for the involvement of citizens in sports — up to 55% by 2024. The head of state also instructed to create conditions for sports for all categories of the population.
On November 22, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed the Concept of training the sports reserve until 2025. According to him, in order for the most promising children to reach the top of professional sports, there must be a transparent system of selection and support, built in accordance with the concept.
Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets added that the program is aimed at helping all extraordinary children "to prove themselves and achieve the highest results in sports."
