A NASCAR Races Team has been Fined $30,000 for Violating Anti-Coronavirus Regulations
OREANDA-NEWS. The team of the Motorsport organization «Chip Ganassi Racing» was fined 30 thousand US dollars (about 24.7 thousand euros) for violating anti-coronavirus rules. The owner of the team during the stage of the American racing series NASCAR Cup Series, which was held in Daytona Beach, led an outsider into an area, accessible only to competitors.
The owner is banned from attending the next race in Homestead, Florida. But the drivers themselves are not suspended from the race.
Recall, that the first place in the Daytona Beach race was taken by Christopher Bell. This is the first victory for the 26-year-old Bell in the top American division of NASCAR, in which he has competed since the beginning of 2020, having participated in only 37 races. Joey Logano, the 2018 champion, finished second, and Denny Hamlin, one of the current season's favorites, finished third. Chase Elliott, the 2020 champion, finished in 21st position, leading for 45 laps out of 70.
