OREANDA-NEWS. VTB has already issued loans for projects in the Arctic zone by 400 billion rubles and plans to double its funding for projects in the Arctic in 2020-2021. This was reported to the Russian media on the sidelines of the forum "Russia is calling!" Deputy President - Chairman of the Board of VTB Valery Lukyanenko.

“Today, VTB has issued loans worth 400 billion rubles for various projects in the Arctic zone and provided about 100 billion rubles of guarantees. In 2020-2021, VTB plans to double its investment in Arctic projects”, he said. Earlier, at the forum, VTB Bank and the Chukotka government signed a cooperation agreement. As the head of the bank Andrei Kostin noted, Chukotka is the first region of the Arctic zone with which VTB concludes a cooperation agreement as part of its new regional expansion strategy.

Earlier it was reported that VTB and Efko signed an agreement of intent on the joint creation and operation of infrastructure facilities in the seaport of Taman.
