OREANDA-NEWS  VTB launched money transfers in yuan to accounts in Russian banks. The maximum amount of transactions per day in VTB Online is 20 million rubles (equivalent in yuan), per month — no more than 1 million in dollar equivalent. The same limit applies in VTB branches. The commission is 1% of the transfer amount, but not less than 15 and not more than 200 yuan.

To make a transfer, you need to open an account in Chinese yuan. "We predict that the volume of such transfers will exceed 100 million rubles per month," said Alexey Khranilov, head of the VTB Transfers department, quoted by the bank's press service.

VTB started opening deposits in yuan on March 9, 2022. As Kommersant reported, on the first day of February, several Russian banks immediately increased rates on deposits in yuan. Now, when opening a deposit in Chinese currency, you can count on a rate of almost 3%. However, while the demand for deposits in yuan is small, they mainly attract wealthy clients.
