OREANDA-NEWS  The British mobile operator Vodafone Group and the American Google (owned by Alphabet Inc.) are expanding their strategic partnership through a ten-year deal worth "more than $1 billion", including cloud technologies, cybersecurity and AI solutions.

The companies are seeking to expand the distribution of generative AI-based devices using Google's Gemini models among Vodafone customers in Europe and Africa, the British company said in a statement.

As part of the agreement, Vodafone will promote subscriptions to Google cloud storage services, including Google One AI Premium, which gives users access to the Gemini chatbot.

Vodafone will also use Google's cloud platform for business and develop a new cloud security service.

"The partnership between the two companies will provide access to data storage, cybersecurity and AI support to Vodafone customers in 15 countries around the world, as well as our partners in 45 more countries," Vodafone said in a statement.

"At the same time, Google will use Vodafone's fixed and mobile services to increase productivity," the press release says.

Vodafone shares are losing 0.4% in price at auction in London on Tuesday. Since the beginning of this year, their value has increased by 8.3%.
