OREANDA-NEWS  Ukraine expects to receive 1.9 billion euros from the European Union (EU) from revenues from frozen Russian assets. This was stated by the country's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

The minister called the money funds that are "needed immediately," but did not specify exactly where they would go.

"We also hope that the partners will find an opportunity to allocate six billion euros from the European Peace Fund to strengthen the Ukrainian army at the front," Umerov added. He also called on the EU to invest in the production of drones and ammunition.

Earlier, the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, called the decision to help Ukraine at the expense of income from frozen Russian assets theft. He added that such assistance is aimed at fueling conflict and maintaining corruption.
